ABOUT NMRC

What Our Local Dirt Bike Clubs
and Organizations are Doing to
Keep Desert Racing Alive

WHAT WE DO

The New Mexico Race Collective (NMRC) is comprised of dirt bike clubs and promoters that promote and execute various desert racing formats: Hare Scrambles, Hare & Hounds, Enduros and Grand Prix throughout the state of NM.

NMRC is a non-profit organization with a board of directors and members. Directors of the Board are one member from each of the participating clubs/promoters, and a NMRC Series Referee elected by the BOD. This is a volunteer run organization with no paid staff and centered around the participating clubs/promoters.

The creation of this series happened because of the recent loss of two NM desert racing organizations, and the pain in the hearts of the hundreds of desert racers who are missing the action and our community. It appears that (at least in NM) promoting a desert race or series is not a money making venture. One of the foundations in forming NMRC was the reality that to keep our racing alive in NM, it is up to us to make it happen. The clubs and individuals that have stepped up in the formation of NMRC, and their commitment to hold an event, have demonstrated that we have solid leadership and many racers that are willing to do their part.

The vision and intent is to focus on the foundation of other successful nonprofit racing organizations, the desert clubs and promoters. Desert racing clubs bring so much to the sport and are effective way to grow and strengthen our community. To that end, the NMRC is going to pay generous work points (60 points) for racers that work one of the NMRC events. Joining (or just volunteering for) a club that promotes an event is something that every racer can do, and rather than forcing anyone, we will reward those who choose to do their part.
